The convoluted process of IFDB, and fanedit.org, to normalize the bootlegging of fanedits neither justifies piracy, nor makes a fanedit simply more than anything other than an amateur editor's interpretation of ANOTHER's work. Yes,there are some great fanedits out there! Even by professional celebrity types like Topher Grace and Steven Soderbergh. But fanedit intel-websites like OriginalTrilogy.com, reddit's-r/fanedits AND especially fanedits.org are dead-forums that took themselves TOO seriously. It's like that episode of "Seinfeld" where Jerry is manipulated into pirating a movie with a camcorder by a bad-friend only to become obsessed with the dark hobby and thinking he's Martin Scorcese.
